Born in 1878 in Galat, Romania, was a machinist with the VM in Nenthead who had an affair with Annie Marie Harpur, the wife of Caldwell Harpur, the company secretary. Annie Marie had a child by Vassili then left her baby and her husband and emigrated to Canada with Vassili in 1906.
